Tres interesting. With my skills, my thumbpick would immediately end up in the crescent moon "pick storage compartment."

I wondered about the scale too Don.
It looks to me to be a 24" scale.
If so, one could increase the volume of the instrument by converting to 22 1/2 allowing
the bridge to get more on top of the sound board. Of course, you would then need adjusted fret board markings.
On my 10 string acoustic I used auto harp tuning keys and they save 4" at least in the length of the instrument. They work excellent by the way. I also have a quarterman cone in mine. People keep looking to see if it's plugged into something. It is loud.
Having said all that, Bernards guitar is a great idea and it looks very nice.

Well, the scale length is 22 1/2.
The instrument has a sweet nahi-nahi tone just as George says, and the moon pick storage compartment works perfectly, just as Howard noticed. By the way, the moons stand for DC, as Dominique Chevalier, the luthier.
The acoustic sound is not very loud, but the tone is so fine. Using it amplified with my mashall acoustic soloist gives me total satisfaction when I need more volume.
The place for the bridges is certainly not the best acoustic place, but there was 2 reasons for that choice :
1) I wanted a short instrument for easy packing and carrying around.
2) Mister Chevalier, immediatly thought that 16 steel strings on that table would put a very heavy strain. He therefore computed the braces and bridge places in consequence. Any ideas of improvement for the next instrument will be welcome.
