Sho-Bud Professional D-10, Restored

Post by Adam Przybyla »

As always seems to be the case, I’m cash-poor when something that I really want comes up for sale, so, alas, I need to try to move a couple of things to come up with some funds.

This beautiful Sho-Bud Professional D-10 was recently refinished and completely restored to its former 1971 glory. Actually, it was originally red/blonde, but I decided to go with this lovely shade of emerald green, like an LDG. Anyway, every mechanical part was meticulously cleaned up and adjusted for perfectly smooth action. These old Sho-Buds get a bit a bad rap for being clunky, but when they’re adjusted right, as this one is, they play just as well as anything. And it’s got tone for days, of course.

There are 8 pedals and 4 knee levers, set up in the standard Emmons configuration. LKL raises the E’s, LKR lowers them, RKL raises the F#’s to G, and RKR lowers 2 and 9. The rack and barrel mechanism makes changing the setup super quick and easy, but I’ll be happy to set it up to your copedent before shipping.

The original case isn’t the prettiest thing, but it holds and protects the guitar, so you can’t ask for much more than that.

I did all the mechanical restoration myself, so I know this steel inside out. I’m happy to answer any questions.

Asking $2400, plus shipping

Nice looking Bud, great shade of green, someone is going to be getting a nice, clean vintage steel here.
