Where to find sets of spare .11/.12s?

Post by Henry Birdsey »

Hey y'all,

Does anyone know where to find sets of spare .11 or .12 gauge G# strings? Is it possible to buy them in packs of 5-10 to keep around? I tend to break that 3rd string more often than all the others and would love to find a way to replace just the broken string, rather than buying/opening a whole new set every time it happens.

Thanks,
Henry

Hello Henry. You can buy single spares right here from the forum. Click Strings at the top of this page, then select singles from that menu. The GHS brand has single 11 ga. strings that are reinforced for pedal steel. There are also several other choices there.

Good luck and happy pickin!

Sure just click on "Strings" in the upper right and then type "singles" inthe search box.

They seem to be out of the in betweens, .0105, .0115 etc right now but I've purchased those recently from the store.

Here on the Steel Guitar Forum as others suggested.
While you are ordering spare 3rd strings, Order spare 5th strings also, They are the other string known for breaking pretty often too. The B to C# pull on the A pedal will take its toll on the 5th string.
