Very little steel on Broadway

Post by Tom Keller »

I was in Nashville this past weekend. What a disappointment for a pedal steel fan. There was only one bar that had an act that included pedal steel. I believe it was Roberts Western World. I didn't get the young gentleman's name. He had a full beard and was playing an Emmons black faced guitar. The music seemed to be everything but country. What a disappointment.

yeah it's a shame. apparently there is more traditional country with steel during daytime hours. I've just about stopped going downtown anymore, we spend most of our time over at Nashville Palace and Music City Bar & Grill.

Recent discussion with suggestions on where to find more steel guitar - https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=343996

Yup, it is what it is. Other thing is that it's a royal pain in the ass and expensive down around Broadway. Unless I know someone specifically playing there, I generally go somewhere else.

I will say there was one good deal downtown. They were having the Grand Masters Fiddle Contest which was absolutely free plus it was within walking distance of our hotel. Can't beat that.

Stay through Monday night and go to 3rd and Lindsley and get a load of The Time Jumpers.
