Encore Rod Chart

Anybody have a stock rod chart for a Zum Encore? Emmons pedals,,and E's on the left would be great.

You could reach out to Doug Earnest.
He builds the Encore guitars, and is a great guy, and would likely have that information on hand.

ZumSteel Encore Standard Setup
Pedal A (left) Raise 5 & 10 B to C#
Pedal B (center) Raise 3 & 6 G# to A
Pedal C (right) Raise 5 B to C#, Raise 4 E to F# (tune a bit flat)
Levers â€“
LL (left moving left) Raise 4 & 8 E to F
LR (left moving right) Lower 4 & 8 E to Eb
LV (vertical) Lower 5 & 10 to Bb, Lower 5 & 10 to C used with pedal A
RL (right moving left) Raise 1 F# to G#, Raise 2 D# to E, Lower 6 G# to F#, Lower 6 to G used with pedal B
RR (right moving right) Lower 2 D# to D at half stop, to C# at full stop, lower 9 D to C#

I just had Doug build one for me (4x5) with standard Emmons pedals, but the levers were slightly unorthodox and my own custom spec. He did this for me at the regular price for an Encore, but I donâ€™t know if he did this out of the kindness of his heart, or custom rodding (within reason) is a regular thing for him.
Iâ€™d drop him a line at stageonesteelguitas and be patient for a reply. Heâ€™s a busy guy. No doubt with the quality of his instruments at this price point.

He surely is busy. Thats why I was asking here. Somebody has monkeyed with this one a little,buts its not too bad. It was Day pedals with C being on the 0 pedal and so forth. 4th pedal was Franklin. I have the pedals ABC now on 123 locations, but timing is off a touch. I'll figure it out eventually.

Hi Richard,
If it is Just the pedals you are looking for, and you are setup for standard Emmons (plus a â€œFranklinâ€), I can tell you how mine is setup if this is useful to you.
By the way, when I was talking to Doug about the setup for my guitar, he Strongly recommended that the Franklin change be put at the far left (a â€œzeroâ€ pedal) then A, B, C Emmons. This is due to ergonomic considerations with the left knee in conjunction with pedal changes.
So if you are looking for which holes in the bellcranks and which holes in the changers were rodded for Franklin, A, B, C, on my guitar I can give you that info. In some cases, however, the strings involved also have other knee lever interaction (and splits), so I donâ€™t know if this is all fully applicable to your arrangement.

I was able to help Richard out today, finally. That was in between finishing two guitars, putting an injured fawn out of its misery and disposing of it deep in the woods, getting my vehicle inspected, getting quotes from two mechanics to replace lower ball joints and front brakes, answering six phone calls and fourteen emails. Other than that it was a slow day.

Well Doug, in spite of the hectic pace you seem to be under these days, it doesnâ€™t seem to have deterred you from building a fine guitar. I am Very pleased with my new Encore, and itâ€™s getting a good workout too!

I absolutely love the guitar you built for me. Now that I already bought one, you should charge more
