C6 TAB Lapsteel Alley Cat - Bent Fabric

Post by Bert Farroach »

Hi lapsteelers !
Another instrumental. This one was composed by the danish piano player Bent Fabricius,
and I always liked the 45 because of the special mix with the echoing/verby sound.

Not easy on lapsteel. Halfway I changed the positions of playing the theme.
I started with slants around the 5th fret, but I had too much problems with intonation.
So now it's "bar hopping". .
In the second part, on the high octave, I kept the original settings. They'll also take some time . .

My version on YouTube is here:

If you like the challenge, just email me, and I'll send the 3-page PDF and backing track. For free as ever.
With best regards,
Bert

Bert this is a very unique song that shows another aspect of the steel guitar. Well done sir!

Ah memory lane! Alley Cat, the only song my grandpa could play on the piano. But he played it great! Thank you for sharing.
