As a common model, it doesn't command a high price even in clean condition - but for $150 it's a no-brainer. I see some worn plate on the control panel, replacement screws in the pickup, and the tuner buttons may be crumbling (or it's just a shadow), but nothing terrible. |

I have one just like it.
For $150 I'd buy it.
They have somewhat of a distinctive tone and you
can really make them growl if you want.
I paid $200 for mine. It just needed a cleaning up, checked
all wiring etc. It's a fun little guitar. _________________ I have stuff.

I think 200 is a fair price. They have a special sound. (but not super special)

It's in rough condition. As others have said, the tuner buttons may need to be replaced and there is a lot of wear/rust on the control plate. That old cord is hard-wired to the guitar and the seller says the jack has come off. That tells me that the guitar has probably not been tested through an amp. The last two Valco-built lap steels I bought (I took a chance on) had dead pickups. They were string-through pickups like this one. So unless the seller has tested the guitar through an amp and can state that the electronics work, I would pass on it. _________________ My Site / My YouTube Channel

and if the adjustable pole pieces in the pickup are seized up and won't move, it can be frustrating getting the pickup signal even from string-to-string. _________________ To write with a broken pencil is pointless. |
