Hey guys,
Id like to take my steel setup outside to a park and play with friends. I need a light and small package so I was thinking:
- Emmons S-10 in an SKB wheeled case
- Pack-a-seat with all cables, volume pedal, etc (same as home so far)
- Backpack with some type of big 12V Lithium-On battery (Amazon) to run the HIlton pedal and a small A/D converter for recording and effects, 2x small Bose or high powered Bluetooth speakers with Aux input and use all cables to connect. No bluetooth for the speakers, just line in.
Has anyone experimented with playing steel outside and what kind of portable amp and 12V battery combo for the volume pedal works best?
Thanks
phillip

Bluetooth speakers can sound really good, but you need to push them with a preamp of some kind, and balance the gain structure to get a decent signal to noise ratio. I guess you're using software for that?
If I were doing this I would use a passive vol pedal, a korg pandora (AA batteries), and a bluetooth speaker.
