I love my National D8's and if I was looking for something else I would be afraid of buying it and it not coming up to the mark as far as playability and tone are concerned. Got myself a Ricky 8-10-8 and didn't like it so it just sits in it's case.
However a Remington stringmaster or an Excel Jerry Bird so long as it does not sound like a Fender.
