follow these steps for perfect carter dogbone rod hooks for DOGBONES by CHUCK ABEND
Insert 093 stainless welding rod in vise with 1 in
sticking up.Tap on tip to obtain 90 deg bend with
around 5/16 radius in hook.Install rod parallel
with top edge of vise and tap on tip of rod until

complete bend parallel with vise top.you will result in a 5/16 radius in the hook.
Insert 3/32 metal guage in hook all the way to inside of hook radius and clamp all the way in vise
compress all the way and tighten vise hard.If hook pops sideways back off and reposition hook ,so you can compress the hook on guage.
You will have a perfect hook every time.
Trim off with dremel cutting disk. Leave 5/16 on hook.put rod on dogbone and add 11/16 pastchanger hole and tap with 4/40 hanson die 1/2 turn and back off use oil.Grind taper on end of rod so die will start easier.Good Luck Chuck

Chuck and Larry. Well done. Larry, your's is a work of art. Similar benders are used to bend pedal rods. Heavier version of course. R P
Larry,If possible, could you send me tech drawing of that bender?
