Pedal Steel w/ Pink & Chris Stapleton

Post by Matt Kelly »

Hey folks!

Just got to contribute some pedal steel to the new Pink album, on the track she did with Chris Stapleton. Wish I could say I was there in the studio with them, but in reality I just sent tracks from my living room in Vancouver. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Still cool to hear steel (even when mixed pretty quietly) on a big pop album.

Here's a link: https://youtu.be/vxurYQnzsnM

Cheers

Nice work, Matt.
Still sounds more country than the CRAP (Country RAP) being spewed out of Nashville.

Nice chord voicings and tone, Matt. I like the high fill at 0:50. Great job keeping the pedal steel present in pop music (from your living room).

This was just my Emmons PP going through a Strymon El Capistan, into the Strymon Flint. Nice and dreamy!
