Is there a standard industry color code for PSG strings that indicates string size?

No "industry standard" that I've ever seen. D'Addario is the only ones I've seen color coded.

Thanks Jack, D'Addarrio strings are what I have. After looking the package over, on the end of the package the string/color mystery is explained. Thanks for the response.

When I get ready to change strings. I go through the whole set, Check and mark each envelope with the No. of the string on the guitar 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12 using a magic marker.
I do not trust myself to remember the diameter of each string and where they go on the guitar.
If you cut a string short on a key head guitar, You have a OH &%!- with the only fix, Is another set of strings. Unless it is 3 or 5 and have spare strings.

I tried some D'Addario NYXL strings. The color coding method of identifying strings was a hassle. It took me twice as long to change strings. I've went back to George L's which have the conventional individually packaged strings.

I'm semi-color blind, so I had to have a micrometer to figure out which strings went where with those D'Addario sets. PIA, never again..

I used to do that. I finally got to where I could remember the gauges. The problem with that is, the D'Addario strings don't come in individual packages. Like Jack S. Said, it took me considerably longer to change strings with D'Addarios. That and the higher cost of the NYXL strings make it a no-go for me. I didn't see any benefit to them.

I recently put a set of D'Addario NYXL strings on my old Blanton guitar,Its a lot easier than I Thought it would be.

I broke a string on my guitar during a set. It was dimly lit, I opened the little carton and I couldn't see the colors at all. I broke the E string so I took what I thought was the thinnest of them. It's not a problem at home, but on stage it is.
