1954 Fender Dual Pro 6 PLEASE CLOSE**NO LONGER FOR SALE**

Post by Seth Owen »

Unfortunate circumstances dictate that I've got to let this prized possession go. She's a 1954 Fender Dual Professional 6 (a pair of 6-string necks), serial number 2880. Entirely original, including the legs.
As you can see, she's seen her share of dance halls and honky tonks, but she's solid as a rock and travels well. We've seen at least ten states together, and once the strings settle she rarely even needs tuning.
A few years ago we went to Nashville and while we were there I asked George Gruhn to do an appraisal. He set the value at $1,500, and her condition really hasn't changed at all since then. Of course the paper with his signature comes with it. Because of my circumstances, I'll settle for $1,000, maybe even less if it's a reasonable offer. Unfortunately, I can't entertain trades, because I'm in need of money.
The case had essentially turned to dust when I found her, so when we travel her current home is an oversized, heavy/flight case. Wrapped in foam, she sits safe and secure, the legs safely tucked away, and even better you can leave the legs extended if you want.
I've got a lot more pictures and will happily send them to you if you like. You'll notice that the chrome do-dad is missing from the right side on the player's side. Thankfully both are intact and shiny on the crowd side, and that's what counts, right? The only other blemish that stands out is that the very elderly previous owner wrote "Fender" in his best cursive on the crowd side. I said "blemish" but to my mind it's nothing of the sort.
It truly breaks my heart to see her go, but such is life. I only ask that the buyer plays her a lot and cares for her at least as well as I have.

Bump

Not sure if I'm doing this right, but from what I've seen this bumps the posting up, to help it stay visible?
