iPad holders for steel leg
What kind of solutions are you guys using for a standard size iPad with the proper connections to attach to the front leg (left) and extend long enough to be able to see it properly?
If you call the leg of your guitar a mic stand there are plenty to choose from. Mine is one of many:-

I think I have found a solution. I went to Long &McQuade, canada’s Largest musical retailer and asked my buddy Mark about my dilemma. Fortunately he’s worked with me before so he knows what a steel guitar is and how it looks. After a bit of back and forth, I purchased two pieces, an iPad holder by the Hercules Co. called DG305b tablet holder for around $53. Needing the unit to reach higher up and be more flexible, I included the MSB 19 side boom by Yorkville to clamp it on the steel leg and elevate it to reading height. It was around $35. There is also enough room on it to mount my Peterson tuner on the right side so it does double duty. I’ll set it up on Sat. nites gig and let you know how it operated in battle.

I used one that would fit on my guitar leg, but people tend to bump into it and unscrew the leg a little. I think that if I wanted to use my tablet on stage again, I would use a mic stand next to, or in front of, my guitar if there is room on stage. Since I mostly use it for set lists, I can use my phone which sits on my guitar at the keyhead. I don't use charts, so having a big screen is not needed.
I think this should be moved to the Pedal Steel section. It's a pretty relative post that will probably help more players there.
