I recently acquired a valve king 1-12 that I would like to put a light weight 12" 8 ohm speaker in and have another I would use as an extension speaker. Will I run into problems doing this?
thanks in advance

The minimum speaker load is 8 ohms, so the external speaker would have to be a 16 ohm, as stated on the back panel.

Shouldn't be a problem with an external 16 ohm speaker load. Here are the 16 ohm cabs that Peavey offers;

Hope that this helps. You may inquire with any authorized Peavey dealer.

Billy: Just to be clear.......

You have a combo amp that has a minimum load of 8 ohms.
You want to put an 8 ohm speaker in it.
You also want to run an external 8 ohm cabinet along with the speaker in the amp.

True?

If the minimum is 8 ohms, you would need to series both 8 ohm speakers to get 16 ohms!
