Hello All,

I see it's OK to ask about approximate buy/sell amounts. That's a wonderful feature of the community and this forum was VERY helpful when I was just learning and looking for a professional level steel. I have a private party interested in my Zum S12. Unfortunately, now medical issues with my hands and fingers are preventing me from playing steel just like they stopped me from playing the six string guitar. I've attached a photo for your review. It's in the extended E9 tuning, with 5 knee and four on the floor. I've been the lucky owner for about 8 years. In that time it's never left my smoke-free house and in fact it's only been assembled once and that was when I received it.

Please let me know what you think would be a reasonable asking price. If the current private party sale doesn't happen, I may list it here.

Thank you very much for your time and comments!

-John

Just looking at previous sales shows a range of 3k to 5k, depending on year, and condition.

Click on the SEARCH button above. Enter Zum or Zumsteel in the keywords box. Choose For Sale: Steel Guitars in the Forum Section Box.

This should return an assortment of Zum asking and sold for prices. Maybe you can get an average price and compare models and condition.

I would also search the listings on reverb.com and ebay. All of this should give you some idea of what your guitar might be worth, then go from there. This is what I do when trying to determine value.
