Being the "keyless to core" guy on the forum, I try to stay abreast of keyless interest. I think Doug Earnest built a S12 keyless for himself when he was with Bruce. Also Doug Seymour (Bobbe's uncle) "chopped" (not to be taken lightly) the keys off a D10 and put Bella keyless tuners on it,,,it was a piece of junk, but I think a succession of owners finally made a pretty nice guitar out of it,,,,that wouldn't by any chance be the same guitar would it?
That one looks BEAUTIFUL!!! |

Hey Jack, this could very well be the one that Seymour started "modification" on. Like I said, I know a succession of owners each did their own thing to make it into something,,,maybe this is it. Or maybe Earnest,,or Bruce may have custom built one for someone.
I'd love to know any history that you have on it,,previous owners etc. I'd also like to see pics of tuners and underneath. |

Thanks Jack. Those are a Williams "type" tuner, but I don't think Williams made them. Maybe the handiwork of Paul Redmond. If that is the same guitar that I told you about in a PM, someone, possibly Paul did a great job of restoring it. A beautiful guitar!!!! |

The only keyless conversion I ever did on a Zum was a turquoise S-12 for Jay Jessup.

Nice one Jack that looks like a Williams keyless unit. Would be nice to change the Phillips screws that hold strings to string stretcher to Williams top hat screws then one wrench is all you need. |
