Dekley ~Sold

Post by Johnie King »

Emmons Knees on left abc pedal
I have decided long distance trades are just not working out.
Trades at my shop in Nashville only or meet at a given distance in person will work well.

This Dekley will put a smile on your face.
If you want a steel that plays an sounds as good as any name brand steel being built to day here it is. At a fraction of the cost of a new steel.

Here is a picture of a Dekley changer the main part on a pedal steel very well made this is the reason they hold ther tune an play so well.

This steel is absolutely untouched underneth just like the day she was born. I Don’t think this steel Has very much if any playing time. Just a closet steel.

Johnny, as a Dekley s10 owner, I'd love to see the endplate view of the E9 neck as well as the underside showing rods and bellcrank holes. Rare to get a view of how the guitar was setup as it left the factory.

Thanks,

Bill

Outstanding birds eye...or is it a laminate? Sure looks real. I'd consider that old honey if finances were right.

Based on the shine and the line between the necks, I think it's two maple veneers butted together with a polyurethane finish. I could be wrong though, it's been a long time.

I bought this from a pro here in town An believe me he is one picky person when it comes to pedal steels he’s had about ever steel ever made. An he has three more Dekley steels.
He’s figured out the Brand he loves for sure. If they made a Dekley car I’m sure he would have one.

Mike Cass actually didn't set this up for me personally. The fellow I bought it from told me that he had Mike work on the guitar some years ago. This was however mine and it is great guitar. I set it up myself and I will say that it plays VERY well.

Hey Leo I met the guy you bought this Dekley from today at a guitar swap meet at the American legions in Nashville he told me you checked this steel over very good befor you bought it. He told me that Mike Cass peeked it out for him. Then you did your magic on her an she pretty well plays herself.

That's right Johnnie! Fred is a great guy and I enjoyed meeting him at his home in Alabama. This guitar has even beautiful tone and sustain up and down the neck top to bottom. And, as you said the guitar pretty much plays itself. Wish they still made a steel today that sounded as good as the Slim Line Dekleys did.
