When you replace formica on front of guitar and glue it and clamp it with a board to hold it, how long should you leave the clamps on it to insure a good bond?

What type of glue are you trying to use? Most formica is glued with "Contact Cement" which is an instant bond no clamping needed.

I used Weldwood contact cement and I clamped it just to make sure, but it seems to have worked fine.
Thanks.

If you used Weldwood and followed the directions you should be good to go.
