Craig...

Do you play steel as quickly as you work puzzles?

I don't play steel as fast as I do puzzles and that's an understatement!

Roy, I never log in, I think I registered early in the year, but usually am to lazy to log in, I will try next time. I'll take a screen shot of my time, next to so I can prove my legitimacy :)

I believe you Craig still can't get over how fast you are.
Are you any relation to steelplayer Doug Stock for interest?

Roy, No relation to Doug that I know of, as said before I do lots of puzzles during my slow work time in the winter, plus I build patios and it helps to increase my speed.

B0b, Now that's one I can't deal with, but if you can translate it to the format, I'll give it my best try.

I was in a motel in Tucumcari with my old sluggish laptop with crappy mouse.
It was on Route 66. Tucumcari once was Six-Shooter Siding, a notorious spot.

Both nice

Post by Andy DePaule »

Hi Bob,
Both nice, but surprising to see them next to each other.
Ross sure has reduced the size and weight by a lot. As well as all the other things he has improved, even though those older ones are already so well designed.

After John got his Red Birdseye Sierra back in 1979 I was drooling to get one, but with going through a divorce and not making all that much money it was not possible back then.
Best wishes,
Andy :D

Thanks Bob

Post by Andy DePaule »

Thanks Bob,
Jim Palenscar fixed all the things that were wrong when I received it.
Sanded and buffed out the deep end plate scratches, replaced the fretboards and tightened everything up so it played real nice.

Now Lynn Stafford has had it the last few months as he's been finishing the last Promat for a nice man in Texas*. That one was just a box of completed parts and unfinished parts and some missing when Mr. Papic died. It will be the only left handed one ever built, but Lynn needed a reference model because he's an Emmons expert and these are metric. He does beautiful work and plays well too.

*The man in Texas had paid a large deposit for his and the last two years until now had nothing to show for it. Now he will have a nice Promat, and the last one at that. I think it is number 26 or 27.

Lynn had mine back apart for all the measurements and when he got done he set it up with the tuning I like best. Can't thank him enough since I'm not ready to tackle a Push Pull just yet.
I'll be getting it back in December when I return to Oregon and think I'll keep it there for when I'm in the states.
