Custom bar and pick caddy

Post by Victor Wong »

Curious as to how folks generally store their bars and picks. I tend to need everything in front of me ready to go otherwise that's one more deterrent to practicing.

But keeping picks and small items on any surface at all is problematic in my household as I have a cat that enjoys repeatedly testing the gravitational constant. My solution was to design and 3d-print a "caddy". Its stuck to the top of my Fender Dual Pro with removable adhesive putty. We'll see if the critter can fish these out.

I may, in fact, be nuts. However, I am screwed onto the right bolt... Jesus!

That's great! Does that clip to one of the legs? How does it stay attached?

.
What I use is certainly not elaborate.
Just a microphone accessory shelf clamped to a table leg with a few wooden holders for bars.
May not be pretty but it keeps things off the floor.
Usually.

I have stuff.
I try to make music with it.
Sometimes it works.
Sometimes it doesn't.
But I keep on trying.

It clips to the leg quite securely. They are marketed by Forumite Mark Roeder, who builds the excellent Deluxe34 steel guitar stands.

I too like to have it ready to go in front of me. They just lay between neck 1 and 2: bar, index pick, middle pick. Works good for me.

Lay your bar on the strings in the keyhead.
It keeps you from denting up the area between the necks. :D

That's what I usually do.

I do like those custom holders, though.

When I bought my Maverick, I made an arm pad with a recess on my left to hold accessories.
Worked out okay.
