Hmmm...that was cut in April of '65, so my guess would be a Sho~Bud "Fingertip", and a Twin Reverb. Gary Lee Gimble can probably find out real quick...

Donny's reply here brings up a question. I
purchased a new Sho-Bud permanent "Big E" in
December of 1964 and received it in Feb. of
1965. Was this perhaps the last permanent
built????? There was no such thing as knee
levers at the time and the tenth string didn't raise. David Jackson was my contact
and I would like to wish him well in his new
"Jackson" venture.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it was a Standel...I might try to call Leon Rhodes and ask him...he played on that record too and has an excellent memory for details like that...he would remember.He still has his Standel from that era,he told me recently...

Dean,
I just asked him and he said "Sho~Bud guitar and a Sho~Bud amp".
He is not sure which model Sho~Bud, though, since they gave him one each year and the models would vary.
My guess is a permanent and the early model amp Bob mentioned in the other thread.
Memory is such a fleeting thing... |

If You want the best version of "Waltz Across Texas" & "Half A Mind" played instrumentally by Buddy Charleton, go to www.billycoopermusic.com & order "Steel Together" by Buddy C. & Billy Cooper, I have bought several highly recommended CDs but this one is way out front! 4 songs are by Buddy himself, the others are Buddy & Billy & Billy is also a great player!
