Ibanez Artist Banjo $200 PRICE DROP

Post by steve takacs »

IBANEZ ARTIST BANJO in super condition. Not much playing time. Banjo and Hardshell case are near . mint send me a Forum PM

PRICE. Was $875 plus shipping.. Now $675plus shipping

This one comes from the "lawsuit era". Gibson was unhappy with Japanese banjos sold at a fraction of the Gibson cost. Thanks More photos
There is some wear that you can see if you look closely at the first photo. It is the small
white area where the right arm rubbed over time.. it is minor but I did want to point it out.

There were several models with similar inlay but different tone rings - does this have a brass or aluminum flathead, or a rolled brass "hoop"? It makes a big difference in performance overall - and among banjo players, price.

FWIW I owned an played one with a 20-hole brass tone ring many years ago and it was better than 70's Gibson Mastertones. If it's that type this would be a real bargain somebody should Jump on. Good price for the aluminum flathead type IMO.
No chops, but great tone
