Rare Lloyd Maines SOLD LOCAL
Ok Lloyd wants me to let this one go for him; as he just got a awesome LDG. This is truly a "RARE" Sho~bud Professional; as in, might be one of the last ones built, born March 1974.
Yes and you can see the Green tint added to the underneath texture, only done during the first year of the LDG May'73-May'74.
I refurbished and put new distance adjusting knee levers made my Michael Yahl on there and owning this one; you have a unique opportunity to play the Lloyd Maines Exact copedent he has used on all Dixie chicks(his daughter is Natalie)CD's; and all Texas singer/songwriters he has recorded and produced for the last 40 years; so I included a pic of his set up.
Ok NEW PRICE$2300.00 sent to me will get it Shipped to you in the United States. Email me if ya want it; if you feel froggy you better jump...won't last long.

BEAUTIFUL Ricky. What a Guitar. If only to be able to roll back some of the years. This type of guitar is what got a lot of us playing this magical instrument. Good luck with the sale and I am sure it will not last long. J.R.

Bobby; this is a "All-pull" mechanism, so it does not tune like a push-pull. This is a barrel tuning mechanism with the best sounding Single/Single fingers Sho~bud ever made and you can raise and lower a string as many times you want.

Tuning
Ricky
Can you give us or tell us where we can get a refreshing of how you time the barrels? I've always wondered that the nuts on the back plate side of changer in conjunction with the barrels. I think somewhere I thought the barrels fine tune, but that's just a thought from past. The nuts on the back of changer do they tune or not tune like the nylon nuts on later Sho Buds?
Maybe there's a guide on the Forum? Interesting copedant.

Wayne that is a good question for the "Pedal Steel" section where one talks about everything mechanical.....NOT on this thread which is ONLY about selling and buying this professional.

Tuning
Thanks for that link. Ricky, I think in part one reason I asked that is so any of us not that familiar with rack and barrel system would have some idea how to tune it while considering it. I noticed one post was wondering if it tunes like push pull. With that link some one now can look and see how that works. But I am sorry to offend you or anyone else. However, this does move your post to the top and might help those wondering about that.

There may be some audio clips of Lloyd playing this guitar. Check out Joe Ely 'West texas waltz', Jerrico or the Maines brothers. I spent many a time working out some of his licks. Ricky, if you get a chance, thank Lloyd from me for being a great influence on my early years of learning.
This must be a good opportunity for somebody looking for an alternative to an early round front LDG.
Dave.

Thanks David I'll tell him. I learned a lot of my very first beginning stuff listening to Lloyd also.
Lloyd got this professional later in life so it's not on the early Joe Ely stuff and he usually always takes a single neck traveling out on the road With him, as its a whole lot easier to throw and go and so he's only recorded in the studio with this one.

Sho Bud
I like older/vintage things like this. I bet these vintage Sho Buds like this are built good.

Yes Wayne; you could actually throw this one onto the stage from 10 feet in the air and still play the gig perfectly all night.
