There's a very clean looking National New Yorker 6 string lap for sale in the Sacramento Craigslist, for $575 with case. Is that a fair price, assuming it works as claimed?
It has the plexiglass shield over the pickup, which based on my limited and quick internet search means it's a 1947 or later version. The pickup is a single humbucker, or maybe a P90 style single coil PUP. Everything looks to be stock.
How would this sound compared to the Supro with the string through PUP that I already own? I would have a very hard time justifying buying this guitar. It really should go to someone who can appreciate it.

I can't speak to the sound of these, but the price seems right.. maybe on the low side for the condition, which looks to be excellent.

I have a '47 National New Yorker. It's my favorite lap steel. I keep it in E and do everything from blues to country to rock.
I couldn't find the ad. To me the price seems a little high, but I got mine for a lot less about 25 years ago. |

It is a good price, not sure about the US but the UK is experiencing a buyers market, lots of stuff is slow to sell from houses down to guitars....
Price keenly if you wish to sell.
