I just wanted to say that I received my new Mullen D-10 steel guitar a few days ago and it’s not what I expected. I have always known that Del, Dixie, Mike and the whole crew at Mullen guitars build a fantastic instrument and this is not in question. However I had ordered a new royal precision but have never owned one and I have only seen one up close at a steel show. So basically I only had the older models to compare it to. Which I have owned a few of. When it arrived and I took it out of its case and looked at it, I was blown away by its fit and finish and upon closer study. The materials, mechanics and quality of craftsmanship are second to none. This guitar is 10 times what I had expected and I think it’s a keeper. I just wanted to say publicly thanks to everybody at Mullen for the wonderful guitar.
Sincerely
One happy customer

I own a 2004 D-10 Royal Precision, and it is absolutely wonderful. I agree w/ everything Wayne says.
I Played one at the Mesa show last year, and I just had to get one.
Mine's black, w/ 8+7, and all polished.
Thank you to everyone at Mullen Steel Guitars!
And thank you to Bruce H. for selling it to me. [This message was edited by Mike Vallandigham on 26 October 2005 at 09:34 AM.] |

Hey Bubba W., wait till you light that thing up !! I was very impressed with mine when i got it ; but when Del played his at St Louis this year, it blew me away. IMHO Mullen steels just improving in engineering, tone and sustain.
Good job Mike, Shaun, Dixie and Del.

As some may know, I visited the Mullen shop and was completely impressed with the workmanship and attention to detail I saw. These are craftsmen and master machinists. Not to mention incredibly welcoming and friendly!
BTW, I'll be sending that high-mileage CD back to Del along with official certification of its orbital ride in the next couple weeks!

Thank You for the nice comments Wayne and all, after scaring the crap out of me for the first half. I was saying as I was reading, Oh what does this guy know, and then after reading on, I liked you again. I know that the original Mullen was a great guitar, but the new Royal Precision is definitely a big step up. Both are excellent guitars and the original guitar can still be purchased through Herby Wallace, as the HWP. It is a fine instrument, but we have come a long way.
My advise is try one out, but if your not ready to buy one, you may want to wait, because it can be torture.
We can't wait to get the cd Steve. By the way Steve don't you have a Birthday this month? Happy Birthday.
It is so nice to get on the forum and see some of our happy customers writing some good stuff. We are here to please you guys and we hope we are doing a good job.

I bought my Mullen about six years ago, and it is one great guitar. I love it as much today as when I first played it.
