Howdy, fellers!
I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find some C6 tabs? Ideally, some old country and some Hawaiian tunes.
Thanks! _________________ Remington Steelmaster S8 w/ custom Steeltronics pickup. Vox MV-50 amplifier + an 1940's Oahu cab w/ 8" American Vintage speaker. J. As mentioned in a previous post, you can't get better than Doug Beaumier's books. |

I'm very familiar with Doug--he's fantastic! Great guy, too, who's done A LOT for "our" instrument.
My steel teacher has turned me on to some of John Ely's tabs--those are amazing, too--just looking for more sources. _________________ Remington Steelmaster S8 w/ custom Steeltronics pickup. The Jerry Byrd arrangements available thru Scotty's are indispensable, if a little challenging in places. Each one seems to blow the whole thing wide open - Song of the Islands, for example, with several choruses shown three or four different ways is one song but there's just so much to learn from it. There are dozens of tunes, and I promise you you'll get far more out of them than one more song in your repertoire. _________________ Commodore S-8

I would email them via the contact info here: http://www.scottysmusic.com
I bought the JB instruction course from them last year. I think it is a very good course but realistically I've not gotten too much out of it because it takes you on a tour of so many different tunings with only a minority in the C6/C13/B11 land I like to live in...more my fault than its, though. But maybe someday I'll buy a box of strings so I can accommodate all those tunings and work my way through it!
Ask Michael Scott (the son, who runs it or did last year when I inquired) for the list of the tabs, though, there are a LOT more in C6 than in the course! Another good source if you want Hawaiian tunes is Basil Henriques...he sells them direct as well through back issues of their magazine "Aloha Dream". _________________ Waikīkī, at night when the shadows are falling
