Hey Gang,
I've got a 1 x 10 amp with tubes and and open back - I hate to tote it around. However, I've been thinking of toting it around as long as it's protected in a decent case while traveling. Anvil was the "stuff" when I was a kid but so much has changed, Who likes what and why.

If you want to build your own case. Part Express has all the hardware, covering, etc to build one.

Unless you have the silver back of a gorilla, using a wood flight case may protect your amp but not your back.

Gator is one company that offers cases like these. You'll need to measure your amp and give them a ring.
If you need more protection they have that as well.
Lots of companies offer similar.
Back in the 70's I had a drum case company make a fiber case for my Musicman 2x10. Worked fine for personal moving and light travelling.
If airplane mode is your goal then you'll need a flight case made out of wood.

Reliable Hardware is the place for do it yourself case hardware. Partsexpress has some but not the Anvil style case hardware including ABS laminates and angle aluminum that Reliable Hardware has. They also have videos on how to do it yourself.

Thanks everyone!
Just the sort of information I was looking for. I'm leaning toward "cheap and cheery" - don't need an indestructible case for world tours - just something to ensure the tubes don't get smashed during transport.
Godfrey, what are some of the other companies?

Most importantly, all the tubes should have retainers if you’re going to check it as baggage.

Check out Sweetwater for their case finder system.
Without knowing what your amp is nor what type of case you would like, it would be easier if you call them and see if they can find something that fits your needs and budget. Or they can have one custom made for you.
