Well, that's not my professional opinion, that's the name of his CD: "Emotionally Disturbed", and I finally got a chance to listen to it today on a long drive to Baltimore.

Stu, you may be emotionally disturbed but I gotta tell ya, my friend, I was "emotionally replenished" by listening to this wonderful recording! Man! It's got to be one of my favorite recordings to come out of the steel guitar community in years (along with Mike Daly's Renascence). Like Mike's album, I wouldn't call this a "steel guitar CD" in the conventional sense of the word. Your guitar playing shines throughout (and your solos are talkin', even preachin', to me) and I had NO idea that you are also a fine pianist and Hammond B3 player! Of course, I knew that you are an outstanding steel player but to hear the steel mixed in among all your other voices is the real treat here.

The playing and production on this disc are just superb. So many interesting and detailed layers of instrumentation. Man, you had me on track 2 when you cracked into "Walkin' in the Rain", one of my all-time favorite songs from my younger days. (I was grinning ear to ear.) Sheesh, I thought you'd sprung Phil Spector out of prison to do the production on this thing: Wall of Sound indeed! (And I LOVED the vocals on it; you found the perfect gal to sing it, didn't ya?)

Stu, you hit a home run with this one. It's gonna stay in rotation in my home for a long, long time to come! Bravo!

Jim,My friend, thanks for listening,I'm glad that you are enjoying my CD,The title"Emotionally Disturbed"comes from a 3rd grade report card that the school sent to my mom..."Mrs.Schulman Stuart will stand up in class and for no apparent reason he will start shouting and screaming...I think that your son is Emotionally Disturbed and you should seek help for him "Maybe growing up in a city housing project had something to do with it?

I also have a copy of Stu's recording. My favorite cut is Stu's sensitive version of "You Don't Know Me," complete with some ambient barroom overtones.

I just found some steel guitar demos that were recorded on a little fostex in my bedroom in Anchorage a few months before my stroke,I'm getting some CD's made this week, warts, clams an all...until I find a way to record a steel guitar album.I'll be sending some out ,plus the cover will be a self portrait that I drew years ago.
