Idea

Post by Jim Saunders »

Marcus, Why not lay a cloth pad on the bottom neck where your hand rests? I do this on my Mullen D10 just for the comfort. Keep your D10 and someday you will want to add C6 to your playing.

I’ve been trying this with the cloth pad but it moves around on me, I don’t know if this is bad habit as I’m just starting but I use the back strings as an anchor point for muscle memory... when the cloth moves it throws me off and my grips are all over the place. I am certain I would like to learn C6 at some point, but I’ve got enough on my hands now with the front neck! Thank you for the advice!

You might try a terry cloth wrist/arm band such as tennis players often use (an old cotton sock with the toe portion cut off works equally well but is not nearly as attractive). I employ this method when playing any outdoor job to prevent the perspiration from my wrist collecting on the rear strings and thus causing oxidation and dulling the tone. Best of luck.

Sorry to hear about the allergy! I have a Sho-Bud SD10 that I’m looking to sell. Check out my add and contact me if you are interested. Can work out a deal for the D10

Try a magnetic sheet with some fabric on top. It won't move around and it'll keep your arm off the strings. Nice guitar BTW. Just a suggestion.
I don't know much but what I know I know very well.
