On Hipshot's website, I see that they now make a version of the Trilogy Bridge for Dobros. Anybody tried one out?

I put on a hipshot bridge with a raise on the second string connected to a lever which I can push right with my knee. Effective, but with the following drawbacks: The Dobro is rather light, so you have to hold is properly to avoid it sliding off your knees. i stuck an old mousepad rubber sheet on the back of the dobro for friction. In addition, the string is grinding though the plastic bridge.
i also have 3 more levers for the changing of the tuning. The levers make a lot of noise when they click (snap) into place.
Another drawback is that the hipshot bar that is responsible for pushing the strings towards the body is too high. Therefore there is not enough pressure on the bridge with resulting sound degradation and rattles of the spider.
For the record. this was a hipshot bridge for telecaster. It may be different or better for the Trilogy.

In my case, I put it on as an experiment and for changing different tunings. But I found I play better if I am not distracted by mechanical tricks. So I am going to put the original tailpiece back on. But by all means, try it, because it is a lot of fun.

I was asking regarding the Trilogy bridge, which has levers for each string, with three tuning positions. It originally came out to replace the bridge on a Strat or Tele and has a much lower profile than the Hipshot B Bender plate. I've got the fully B bender rig on a Tele and I wouldn't even consider using that on a dobro. FYI, they have a picture of a dobro with the Trilogy bridge on the Hipshot website. Can't remember the URL but if you do a search for "Hipshot trilogy" it should get you there.

Thank you Michael, I have seen it.
Please read the email I got below:

Hi Peter,
I saw your post on the Steel Guitar Forum, but I'm not a member so I
couldn't post a reply. I have fitted the dobro version of the
Trilogy -there's a photo on my website on the page http://www.petewoodman.strayduck.com/page3.html.
I find it works really well, although I haven't explored all the variations
yet. I use it to get open G minor, adding an E instead of top D for that
Western Swing sound or for the version of "Hula Blues" I learnt from Stacy
Phillips, which drops the 3rd string to F sharp. Oh yes, and for low bass G
as well.
As you discovered, you need graphite tops on the nut and bridge saddles,
otherwise the tuning isn't accurate because the strings hang up in the
slots. Also you need a pretty tough solid instrument to handle the string
tension changes, but mine is and I find the tuning is accurate and it stays
in tune.
I'm currently working with Hipshot to produce a chrome version with a
smaller bottom plate, to use on biscuit bridge resos as well. I feel that
there's probably more scope for that. Most dobro players I've met like to
learn to play in standard tuning irrespective of the key.
Dave at Hipshot is a dobro freak (the mahogany one shown under construction
on my main page is for him) and he has some other ideas for dobro trilogys
he wants to develop too. He told me the other day he'd just sent one to Mike
Auldridge - I don't think you could have a better recommendation.
Regards,
Peter

I didn't respond because you initinally said Dobro, my teacher had one on a six string electric lap steel and used it to go from C6 to B11...it worked perfectly.
