Melobar 88. I used to think this was a Skreemr, but Ted Smith told me that it's an 88.
It's had very little use. It doesn't have the wooden tie bar attachment. I'm told that most players threw those away, so you'll rarely see a Melobar with one nowadays.
A great idea for people who stand up and play, but, for me, I always play seated, so it's no advantage. Sounds great. It has the original foam body.

Is this set up with a split tuning? That is 6 strings tuned to G and the lowest 4 strings tuned to help with a C tuning?

The first 3 pics and the 5th picture seem to show odd spacing between the strings at the nut and the 5th picture I try to account for all 10 strings but I can only see 7 or 9 if I visualize string 1 and 10 way out on the edge of the neck. And the string spacing between string 6 and 7 is wide.

I guess I haven't paid attention to this feature before. Interesting. I never thought of doing something like this.

If it will help, I'll throw in a nut and saddle cut 6-8 or 10 for $45 (twenty off the usual price). That E66 pickup on that guitar, grovers, great condition, steal of a price. Also can recondition it with keys up and put a painted solid body on it - keep in mind, letters peel off the fretboard. That should go to a good home.

Ted Smith's father designed the Melobar, and yes, it did have a weird split tuning. I haven't played the guitar for years, and I can't remember what it's tuned to right now. I would recommend to any buyer to take up Ted Smith's offer and get a new nut, then set it up as a regular 10-string. It needs new strings anyway. If I were restringing it I would remove the tuners and reinstall them the other way up, so that it's tunable from above. That's a five minute job.
