C6 TAB Lapsteel Stranger on the Shore

Post by Bert Farroach »

Hi lapsteelers,
Member Al Wiegel asked me to write out the melody line he made on Acker Bilk's Stranger on the Shore
in my tab program. In GBDGBD.
I more or less promised to do an arrangement in C6, and here it is.
Another good one to practice on, with some slants and some fine strummed chords. Building up a bit with little variations.

I did a clip of the tab here to give an impression:

Below is the first part; if you want the complete PDF plus the mp3 backing track, just email me, and I'll send it to you!
Enjoy ! Bert.

Hi again Bert,

I just received your email with the tabs and backing tracks to both songs I asked about.
This is good stuff...thank you for your efforts.
I am having a great time with your material.
Oh.....and I'm learning a lot too...

Have a good day
I have stuff.
I try to make music with it.
Sometimes it works.
Sometimes it doesn't.
But I keep on trying.

Just watched the video. You do such a nice job of your playing Bert. Thanks for doing up the melody line on my tab on this one in GBDGBD and for posting your C6 version of it. I think the C6 version provides a more original sound but enjoy playing both. Thanks again.

Tablatures Nickie and Jacques...

Post by Jacques Gabelout »

Thank you very much Bert! We hope that our duets will please you, pity that the tablatures in E6 and C pentatonic 8 strings do not suit you ... But it is the very personal tuning that Nickie has adopted on his Multiharp ... (if you make a search, you will find that no one else is playing on this instrument yet).

At the beginning of our blog, you can listen to our album of 14 favorite standards that we played duet throughout our course.L'exceptionnelle Multiharp Gibson d'Annick Nickie Gabelout
We hope that all this represents our constant search for personality ...
Sincerely

bonjour, Jacques et Nicky,
tres speciale d'entendre vos disques !
c'est longtemps, je pense
and now I'll continue in english(easier),
nice EP records on your site; sounds like sixties, when Joe Meek was doing Telstar and more. . .
are you still performing?
I cannot do much with your tabs, I regret, I just play the lapsteel C6, but I'll go through the material you put up !
best regards, Bert
(and in september and oktober we are probably travelling through France again with our camper) ;)
