As many of you guys know, Bud’s Polishing in Pegram, TN is now closed due to a terrible fire. Bud’s did many builders and guy’s like me polishing and he was very good and experienced working on steel guitar parts etc.
Like many others, I find myself at a standstill looking for another shop/person to do this type of work for my restorations, which are few in numbers.
I am reaching out to this community for names or places to begin working with for these jobs. This has been tough to find so far and many people I have called or emailed did not know of a place or just never responded to emails.
Thank you for any help you may have to offer.
Cheers _________________ I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you

Try these guys. They have done some work for me in the past. Mostly plating, but they can restore anything so I am guessing they have a polishing shop, and they are in Nashville.

Thanks, I spoke with those guys a few weeks ago and they do not do polishing. I have to be careful too that a shop knows what they are dealing with in regards to steel guitar parts. Things can become damaged pretty easy if they get too aggressive... _________________ I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you

Mike,
That's good!
I rebuilt a ZB and polished all the parts with mine.

I am retired, but still have my shop and polisher. I polished aluminum for 50 years. It is a two step process, cutting and polishing. Two different wheels (not the hard stitched wheels) and different polishing compounds.
I am not in the polishing business, but if you can't find any place to do it, I will help you out as long as you don't have any deep scratches you want polished out. |
