I've never seen another Sierra S-8 pedal, nor have I managed to find any images of a Sierra or Wright with a pickup like this one. A bandmate of mine recently acquired this guitar, which had been sitting in storage alongside other unsold inventory from Tombstone Music in Portland since it's closure in 2004 or so. Unfortunately the former owner of Tombstone recently passed away, so we don't know the story behind how or when it came into his possession. Hopefully I'll be able to do a bit more sleuthing and learn more about it's history and previous or original owner(s).
Has anyone else ever seen or owned a similar Sierra or Wright guitar?

| I'm not sure when the Wright/Sierra name change happened, but I've seen nearly identical Wright guitars like that from way back in the 1950s - 1960s era. The early Domlands from the 1960s had mechanically similar changer and cable works innards, but with fancier cabinets. And the Carvins were also similar, but with very plain cabinets. These older guitars are rarely seen, but more than a few were made. |

| Someone else sent me these pics a week or two back. With David Wright and I estimate this guitar was built somewhere between 60-63. Chuck started using the Sierra name in 1960. |
