I'm thinking of using Lyft or Uber later in the week for an airport run but, having never used them before with music gear, any risk they'll see the size/weight of the steel case and turn me down?
It'll easily fit in most back seats but I can imagine them thinking it might damage the upholstery.
Any of you have experience with this? |

You can take whatever you want-put the steel in back and sit in front. I have a friend who takes a drink with him every week on the way to the club and noone’s ever said anything. |

I've used Lyft twice to go to and from the airport. They just put the steel in the trunk, no problem.
The only issue was that there seemed to be no way to notify them in advance that we needed trunk space, so one driver had to do some rearranging because he didn't expect to need the trunk, but he managed and we got it done. _________________ www.JimCohen.com

i use Uber a lot for my work. You can always call the driver, once he locks onto you, and you can ask if he has room. If not, he or you can cancel, and you can request the ride again. Most will have room for your stuff. _________________ A banjo, like a pet monkey, seems like a good idea at first. |

Get an UberXL to be on the safe side. Probably will be a minivan or SUV, and they won't be as surprised when they see your pile of cases. |

Lyft/Uber are great. Never had any issues, and most drivers are happy to be taking a musician somewhere instead of a Broadway drunk... not that they're mutually exclusive
But seriously, I wouldn't sweat. I would download both apps and check the pricing on both when you're ready to book a ride - sometimes there is a couple bucks difference depending on the time/driver availability... lots of folks drive for both though... |

Hey Chris, you should be ok with the ride. But keep in mind, at BNA, Lyft/Uber have to (or are supposed to) drop off at that outermost lane where the taxis go. It can be a challenge getting all the gear and suitcase to the skycap. Just my 2 cents.
Edited to add: Their pickup location is downstairs and across in the parking garage. Definitely plan on renting a cart. |

Yeah - I already budget for carts at every stop and then can celebrate whenever I don't actually need to spring for one. |
