Old MSA rods are 1/8 fractional or .125 diameter. Not sure what size the new ones are. Old MSA's is one of the easiest guitars to make pull rods easy and quick.
Go to a welding shop get 1/8 stainless welding rods. I thread both ends of a 3' welding rod, And cut a short pull rod and a long pull rod out of each welding rod. Just slide it through the brass bell crank pivot and tighten the set screw.
Be sure the plastic hex tuning nut has the right size hole. If the hole is to small they won't start on the rod without a lot of force and fudge, Will swell the hex nut and the tuning wrench will not fit easy, Sometimes they will split also.
I have an old MSA D10 and an S10, I have added rods too. |

And you can always drill out the hole in the tuning nut if yours is the wrong size. They usually come unthreaded and thread themselves. |
