A friend unearthed this Marlen from an estate guitar collection. I'm guessing it's a 1960s, but can't find a serial number on it. 3 pedals, but just one knee lever.
Can anyone provide any info - description, pros/cons, tuning process, year estimate, and a value? Marlens were made just up the road, so nice to get one back into a player's hands.... if, that is, it's reasonably playable ('Very Happy'). I put it back together (pedals were put on the wrong side initially, thus the pic before I moved them) - seems workable, if a little stiff.

Yes, it's probably a late '60s to very early '70s model. The serial number should be stamped into the bottom edge of the front or rear apron, near the keyhead end. I'd put the worth (in its present shape) at only a few hundred dollars. Mechanically, there are not near enough parts there to approximate a modern setup. In it's favor, it's a very light guitar with very simple (pull/release) mechanics, somewhat comparable to the early Sho~Bud Maverick.

Jack, I think that's just the pic. I didn't see any cracks when I looked.

Jack, my friend is. I think he's got it priced a little high, which is why I was asking. I'm not in the market, but would happily put you in touch if you'd like.
