TSGA Jamboree and Benevolent Fund
Happy New Year to All:
The Texas Steel Guitar Association Jamboree will be in Dallas, March 8-11, 2018. It is going to be a great show so plan to attend.
At the TSGA Jamboree the Benevolent Fund crew will be raising money to assist musicians and their families across the country. Thanks to many of you, we have been fortunate enough to assist quite a number of musicians and their families over the years.
We ask that you please join with us again this year in our endeavor. If you have any items you wish to donate, please bring them to the show in March or send with someone you know. We will be selling items, auctioning items, silent auctioning items, selling tickets for some items and anyone can purchase these donated items. We will have a dobro signed by all players of the main show (this one will have the signature of Lloyd Green), and of course we will have the big 50/50 on Saturday night complete with outstanding costumes on some of the Benevolent Fund crew. We do accept cash donations.
All of the funds raised go directly to the Benevolent Fund.
Please come to the TSGA Jamboree in March and take part in our fund raising activities. The Benevolent Fund is a great cause and we need your help in making this another successful year of being financially able to assist musicians and their families across the country.
Thanks for your support and we are looking forward to seeing you in Dallas this March. Please
come by and say hello to us at the Benevolent Fund Booth.
May God Bless You All,
Barbara Rosetta

Let me tell you folks.
Miss Barbara works super hard for the steel guitar world. Come on by the booth and support any way you can.
And when I am on stage, auctioning off various items, PLEASE dig deep for this great cause.
It is not fun begging for money, but we make it fun by teasing, intimidating and various other ways from the stage.
Heck, I even get boo'ed once in a while, but that is ok.
My wife Linda and I support this cause 100%

It's a little inside joke between the ladies of the Benvolent Fund and me. Several years ago, when the late great Bobby Bowman was MC'ing, he was auctioning some items from the stage. He got to a full size blanket with a USMC logo on it and said "do we have any Marines in the room". I proudly stood up and (I was the only one) and he simply said "Sold $65.00!!".Mike Sweeney wrote:Watch out Bill, you might start getting called Linus.
It was for a good cause

Barbara, I am acting as an agent for someone wanting to sell some substantial steel guitar, with supporting equipment and donate the proceeds to the benevolent fund. There is too much to talk about in the forum, could you please call me at 210.516.5038 at you convenience and I will share with you the full story. Thanks,
Mark Moseley

I just got my first pedal steel so this will be my first time attending a jam and am really looking forward to coming. If you could be so kind as to help a new guy out, would it be worth packing my guitar and bringing it down or is that not necessary? Just trying to plan accordingly! Thanks in advance!

Ryan, most attendees do not bring along a steel (unless they are performing on the show). However, if you're driving, you might as well throw it in the car. It could come in handy, say, if you were interested in checking out a new amp for sale, or something like that and you wanted to try it out with your own steel. I'm not sure if the seminars allow or encourage people to bring their own steels; some do and some don't. You might check into that, in case you were thinking of taking a seminar.Ryan Pinkerton wrote:I just got my first pedal steel so this will be my first time attending a jam and am really looking forward to coming.
