A little while back, I tried to buy a BJS tone bar. No one seemed to have any and I got no reply when I tried to phone BJS directly. Are they still in business and if so, where are they? Best tone bars I ever used... Thanks, Jon |

Jon, I was told they got some inferior steel and had to wait on better material before making any new bars. I was told they plan/hope to start shipping again mid July.

Jon, i have a friend who has played psg almost all his life and had used BJS bars exclusively. I told him about the John Pearse Big Daddy bar i bought in St. Louis
in 2002, and what i think of it and he ordered a Big Daddy from Breezy Ridge Music
in Center Valley, Pa. and called the day after it arrived and said he had never gotten sustain like that from any other bar.
I l;ove mine and wopuld recoomend it to anyone looking for an excellent bar. If you
would like to give them a call: 800-235-3302
or 610-691-3304, They are really nice to deal with. Also think they heve the absolute best acoustic guitar on the market.
IMO

Yeah right, the question here is about BJS and NOT John Pearse bars. I've had both and BJS is FAR superior. |

Without a doubt, the best bar made today and I've tried just about all brands.
I have a 15/16 & a 7/8 and love them both.
Keep up the good work Bill.

The one particular night that I had my best~sound ever, I was using a BJS 15/16” 10-str, bar. I’m now using my John Pearse 7/8” 10-str. bar and find no fault with it either! I wouldn't say one was better than the other. Either one works or me!

About 8 yrs ago i had a BJS with a flawed coating on it .While at the ST.Louis Mo.steel guitar show I showed it to Bill Stroud. He handed a new bar i have used it 8 yrs and it is still like new. He does insist on the best quality you cant go wrong with his BJS Bars thanks Bill

Guys, let me tell you.... I have many BJS bars and I love 'em. The one I use most is actually the first one I ever bought, back in 1987 ( i think). I have played more shows and sessions with it than I can remember. It's been dropped on the metal pedal cross bar, dropped on concrete, thrown at drummers and bounced off of their hardware (true) and still there is not a mark on it.
I had one with a flaw in it, which Bill replaced at no charge, and that replacement has lasted over 10 years. I am so glad Bill is still making bars, although if he keeps his quality the way it always has been, I don't know if I'll ever need to buy another bar from him

You owe it to yourself to try Bill's 15/16" bar. I had always used a 7/8" bar but wanted to try the little larger diameter bar. That is the only one I use anymore. I don't have large hands but it sure fits my mitt. |

I have a 12 string bar made by this gentleman and i love it . I use it on my Sho~Bud Pro ll Custom that i bought new back in 1977 . It makes it easy to slide the bar past the strings on my D-10 and still have bar to hold onto . Thanks for a great bar . Gary . |

I just got my 12-string 7/8 BJS in the mail from Steel Guitars of Canada, and I can finally make those high notes sing. Guys on here have mentioned that it changes your playing dramatically, and they're right. Perfect weight, length and diameter. I'm glad I took the plunge, after wasting time with inferior bars. |
