I do not know a lot about this one except it was one of Dad's favorites.
The steel in case weighs 67 lbs. I am selling only. No trading/swapping out, and the price is firm.

This EMCI guitar is a bargain and only a couple of these Red, White and Blue ones were made.
The reconfiguration would depend on what the buyer wanted.
Currently this EMCI's copedant is:
RKL lowers Es..
LKL raises Es..
LKR lowers 6 the string and raise's strings 1&2.
RKR lowers D string to C# and 2nd string to D.
Vertical lowers 5th string.
I will confirm and try to get a copedant chart.

These steels are easy to work on and great sounding. A little cleaning and tweaking and somebody has a lifetime keeper of a steel guitar for well under $2,000.

How diffeerent is it from say a stock Mullen or Sho bud like it as far as learning and charting goes?

How the pedals and levers are set is called a copedant.
There is no real standard for a double neck steel but this is close with an Emmons set up on the A,B,C, pedals.
It is less common to lower the E's on the LKR but not that uncommon. Most people just get used to what they started with.
I started with my first steel lowering E's on LKR so that is what I am used to. There are advantages and disadvantages to wherever you choose to place the main levers. It is my opinion that it takes a year or two to develop an idea that you would prefer this over there.
You are correct in thinking that you want to start with a standard setup. This EMCI is within the realm of being a standard setup and should be a very good steel to start with.

Shane, these are great guitars...I've only worked on 3, but they all came out great...Tearing down and cleaning it is the time to add, rearrange, or subtract functions.

Are there an issue with the C6th neck, 8th string? It also seems to miss a lowering spring.
