Videos on Youtube of my playing

Post by Sigi Meissner »

Folks, these are two of my videos that I posted on youtube. Put "Sigi Meissner" if you wanna see more of my playing. The e-guitar in the background is also my playing. There is also some old Jimmy Day and Lloyd Green stuff. I’m looking forward to read your comments. Criticism is also welcome
Let me also know where I can find YOUR steelvideos on youtube.

Hello Sigi,
I enjoyed your playing very much on both necks. Have you given any thought to how you might stand out from the crowd if Music is your source of enjoyment. I looked at the other tracks you have recorded and would say all of them will have been covered by the members here, so they might judge their performance against yours.

I have a Pedal Steel Guitar too which has not been out of its case for many years, simply because I felt driven to copy that which has been done to death by many others and got sick and tired of "The two Pedal Roll" So I reverted back to where I started, on Non Pedal Guitar and tried my best to avoid playing anything covered by others, even to the point of experimentation and using my own compositions, it was either that or packing it in. my Uploads are many and varied, not following any one strand of Music. Up till now I have 2 point 3 Million Views, so I must be doing something right, I try not to copy anyone in my playing and some of my tracks have over quarter of a million views each, so I look upon that as a good promotion of The Steel Guitar to anyone thinking of starting out.

You can find me here :- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWVll5SxZ7M

And here :- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mwta8z3ylJU

The second one is a Lloyd Green composition.

James.

I enjoyed Sigi’s “Danny Boy”, and “White Light” by James (loved the video too). Both very well done. Hats off to you both for putting your work out there on the tube.

I don’t worry about “standing out from the crowd”. If it’s good, it’s good, and the most you can do with your music is give people your best. You won’t end up sounding like anyone but yourself if you draw your inspiration from a variety of sources.
