I take it Pete wrote those songs. He does a pretty good job. He has written some excellent stuff over the years. One that stands out in my memory is "In the Land of the Navaho" when he was with Old and In the Way, a somewhat ironic band name that has come to pass.

So, anyway, I bought a copy of the CD. Its a very pleasant album and Jeff Au Hoy lends it some fine atmospheric steel guitar backing. I never expected his delicate touch on the National Tricone. Its all original material, and with Pete's history and interests, I was expecting something, perhaps, a bit more memorable. To my ear, the songs are like rough drafts. Much of the rhyme is tenuous, and the story-telling disjointed.
