Inspired by listening to Bobby Blacks recordings of these two songs, I would like to find the tabs for "Hawaiian Hospitality" and "I Want to Learn to Speak Hawaiian"
Thanks in advance. _________________ Zum Encore, Remington D8 non pedal, Hallmark Mosrite clone, Gretsch 6120 DSW, Gretsch G5210T-P90 Electromatic Jet Two 90,1976 Ibanez L5, Eastman archtop, Taylor Dreadnaught, Telonics pedal, Squire Tele, Squire Strat, Fender Tonemaster, Gold Tone 5 string banjo, Little Wonder tenor banjo, 3 Roland cubes 30s and 80, Carvin combo bass amp

Mike, I found the tune by Louis A, but I prefer the way the Mills Brothers sang it and definately prefer Bobby Blacks steel playing on his instrumental version on his Steel Guitar Paradise album. Thanks for your response.
I didnt find a link to you playing it...am I missing something ? _________________ Zum Encore, Remington D8 non pedal, Hallmark Mosrite clone, Gretsch 6120 DSW, Gretsch G5210T-P90 Electromatic Jet Two 90,1976 Ibanez L5, Eastman archtop, Taylor Dreadnaught, Telonics pedal, Squire Tele, Squire Strat, Fender Tonemaster, Gold Tone 5 string banjo, Little Wonder tenor banjo, 3 Roland cubes 30s and 80, Carvin combo bass amp |

I was always in search of clues for playing tunes that I was interested in (like Speedy West stuff) and found nothing, so I figured them out myself.
If you want to play Bobby's exact arrangement, there's probably no tab available for that. But if you just want to come up with a nice arrangement of your own, learn the tune in as many versions as you can until you begin to hear your own way.
As much as I dig Bobby's playing, I have to be honest and say I don't even know these recordings. Sorry for not being of any help. _________________ Links to streaming music, websites, YouTube: Links |

You are of great help to me and many of us here on the forum ! I appreciate your suggestions...I have tried to come close to Bobbys arrangement by playing "drop the needle" as I called it in my younger days of vinyl ! Now, I use itunes and do "pause" and "play" using the chord progression of the song I am trying to learn and try to get it close...sometimes I can get close, sometimes not, actually usually not, but I always wind up learning something thru my "hunt and pick" method. I like to work from sheet music and make my arrangements also as I can read regular music notation....I find that very satisfying. I realize I will never get close to any pros level of playing, but I have fun, and for me thats what counts.
Thanks again. _________________ Zum Encore, Remington D8 non pedal, Hallmark Mosrite clone, Gretsch 6120 DSW, Gretsch G5210T-P90 Electromatic Jet Two 90,1976 Ibanez L5, Eastman archtop, Taylor Dreadnaught, Telonics pedal, Squire Tele, Squire Strat, Fender Tonemaster, Gold Tone 5 string banjo, Little Wonder tenor banjo, 3 Roland cubes 30s and 80, Carvin combo bass amp |

That last link didnt work...it takes you to a search page,,,just put in Hawaiian Hospitality and then print off the one that says score...that will give you a PDF of the sheet music that you can print off. Hope that makes sense and maybe you already figured that out anyway.
Let me know if you cant get to the song. _________________ Zum Encore, Remington D8 non pedal, Hallmark Mosrite clone, Gretsch 6120 DSW, Gretsch G5210T-P90 Electromatic Jet Two 90,1976 Ibanez L5, Eastman archtop, Taylor Dreadnaught, Telonics pedal, Squire Tele, Squire Strat, Fender Tonemaster, Gold Tone 5 string banjo, Little Wonder tenor banjo, 3 Roland cubes 30s and 80, Carvin combo bass amp |
