Post by Robert Jackson »

I got there for a fender Custom pro T8 but they are too small...
Did fender make different size body attachments?

Any ideas fellas?

I believe all Fender Custom Professionals and Stringmasters use a 3/4"-10 thread, which is huge. Someone just sent you the wrong size.

FWIW, the legs on my Dual Pro, 2 neck version use a 3/4" thread plug.

Assume your leg sockets have not been changed....

I believe some of the older fenders have a 1/2 X 13 tpi leg size.

Maybe, but none that I've seen. My limited sample of about a dozen 50's Fenders all had 3/4".

I'll tell you what I did.
I took a 3/4"x10 bolt, cut the threaded part off to the proper length, drilled out the center and tapped it to fit the thread on the legs like you have (1/2"x13). You can screw that onto the leg and epoxy it in place if you so desire and you are ready to go. :D

I have found that Atlas microphone stand make good replacement legs for Fender steel guitars.

The large diameter piece fits right into the guitar body piece, and the small diameter tube adjusts to the right height. A small rubber tip from the hardware store completes the project.

A threaded insert like Erv made might be available off the shelf. Here's a 3/4 x 10 tpi to 1/2 x 13 tpi as an example:
