Hi I have Fender dual professional 6 that has a striped out tuner. Any advice on how to get a single replacement tuner? I'm not seeing any parts on ebay.

Just in case anyone needs to know how to remove this type of tuner.

Step 1. Remove gear screw and gear.
Step 2. Heat up round knob until solder melts on the inner shaft and knob falls off.
Step 3. Melt solder from bottom of tuning machine until it breaks free.

A D6 Dual Professional. That's a pretty rare bird. Nice.

If it's just the gear that's bad and not the worm, you might take it down to a guitar shop and see if they have a gear that matches in their scrap tuner bin. Those 12-tooth open gears were used on a number of vintage guitars. Make sure it has the right recess for the post. Probably should have done that before desoldering it though. If that doesn't work, you might find a tuner strip for a guitar that has the correct spacing and shaft size with plastic buttons that can be removed (using a soldering iron on the shaft, not a torch). You could either replace all three tuners with the strip or hacksaw one tuner from the strip and solder it in place. You'll have to file any chrome plating from the bottom of the strip so that solder will stick.

If none of that "pans" out, I have a parts pan from an 8-string that I'd consider removing a tuner from but you might see what your local options are first.

Unfortunately the worm gear is bad.

Hey Folks,
Bill has been gracious enough to send me a tuner.

I also noticed the tuners are dry. Do you guys ever lube them? If so with what?

I think Fender used a type of white grease on those gears. I've seen a number of them over the years and most of them had white grease, some more dried out than others.
