Bill, a blue Legrande II in excellent condition will sell for $2853 on eBay, even if you don't know anything about it and don't post the setup. My guess for a Legrande III in similar condition is about $3300.

I talked with Ron 2 minutes ago. The business was open and even working on Memorial day...he says he has cut the wait time down some...for most orders he thinks will go out in about 24 weeks. Very friendly, very upbeat. Phone answered promptly, and call returned from Ron in about 30 minutes.

Just a thought about Ron's non-participation here on the Forum.

As I said earlier, I bet he can sell all the guitars he can make, and today's post - quoting a 24-week wait - would seem to confirm that Emmons are substantially back-ordered.

As far as raising the profile of the Emmons name goes, it's hard to imagine how much higher it could be! The name is promoted in half the threads on this site, and, along with Sho-Bud, will probably remain as an industry leader, historically speaking.

Zum has no internet presence at all, yet this doesn't seem to cause a stir at all....

24 weeks (6 months) is a reasonable wait for a custom guitar.

In January 04 I asked Gibson to build me an HRF baritone. They said "Ask again in 6 months". So I did, and the reply was "Ask again in 6 months". I'm not going to ask again because I'm getting out of 6-string, but that response is typical of custom shops.

The last guitar I bought from Gibson's Custom shop took 20 months to deliver.

Crowbear - I stand corrected! This is, I'm sure you'll concede, a very recent development.

When I was shopping for a double neck couple years back I called Emmons twice. Once, no answer, second time left a message, no reply.
Called up Bruce Zumsteg, he picks up the phone. Sold.

Now thats the way to run a business.Bruce will sell you what you want, and you don't have to wait 2 or 3 days for him to get back to you. Cause he's got his act together he can tell you there and then what he's got and when you can get it. Image

If they have a 24 week wait, then why hasn't Randy received his guitar. He says it has been 14 months????I don't understand that long of a wait.....This is the 21st century after all.......
