Emmons 1989 25th Anniversary
Hello all…
My dad passed away a few months back and left behind three Emmons D10 guitars. I am listing a pristine 1989 25th Anniversary Commemorative guitar here. I will also list a 1992 Lashley LeGrande and a 1968 Rosewood Emmons D10 separately.
Per dad’s records, this guitar was ordered from Ron Lashley on August 30, 1989 and received the guitar on September 13, 1989. I believe we were at Scotty’s Steel Guitar Convention in St. Louis when he ordered the guitar. Jack Strayhorn (who befriended dad during many visits and phone calls back in the day) built this guitar and has verified my details below.
Dad did not play out at that time so the guitar was setup in his living room where he would play it occasionally for his own enjoyment. The guitar is in new condition as it never left the house and no one could go near it! The guitar may have remained out of the case for a year or two after he received it, and has been in the case since 1992 at the absolute latest. I have tested the electronics and all work well.
Here are the details from the original order:
D10L Pedal Steel Guitar Serial No. 6749
25th Anniversary Commemorative Model
Derby Black Mica
9 Pedals
5 Knee levers
Hard Case (black tolex, red plush lining)
Â
I have the attached diagram which shows how dad requested setup for the floor pedals and knee levers, along with a few photos. I have 16 photos if interested in seeing more.
We are asking $5500 including shipping. The guitar is located near Los Angeles, CA and will ship from there.

New Owner
I am proud to say that I am the prospective new owner of this beautiful guitar. I have never played a push pull, nor have I touched a C6 neck in my life, but after reading through the comments on this post and the interesting story of the five 1989 Emmons Anniversary push pull guitars...I simply couldn’t resist.
Thanks to Jim Palenscar for answering so many questions over the past few days and working to get it freshly set up and off to FedEx in such short order. Next Tuesday can’t come soon enough!
Best,
Chris
