Tom Morrell has, I think, a single neck non-pedal guitar that has a changeover lever that gives him at least two more basic tunings (if I'm correct). I think the builder was Carson Wells.

How about a Multichord kind of crossbar on the changer? I thought of cams, but can't think of a way to adjust them.

Yes, there have been a lot of non-pedal guitars with quick tuning change devices. The coolest I've seen was Pete Grant's 8 string dobro. It has a changer lever on each string.
