Time to start tuning the changer by hand. String are on so I will spend the next few hours dialing in the changer and the lowering tension springs just right.

You know there are folks out here now who won't know what to do without their Mike Skaggs fix...these last couple of rebuilds were really something to look forward to and I for one, am kinda sorry that they're finished. Now that's pretty funny LOL... Thank you for your nice comments, I really do appreciate that and this forum / members.

Next is "Brownie". Brownie is a early 70s (maybe 73) fatback original lacquer guitar with metal necks! I bought her from the Original owner I have known since I was a kid. This one will be a keeper for me.

Randy Beavers and Mike Bourque from Nashville are both coming to the house tonight. The Blue guitar I did that Damir now owns will be there too and we are going to set them up and play them. I am a little surprised no one has jumped on the blue one since it's a freaking beast!

As others have said, beautiful work. It was a pleasure to see the evolution and transformation of this guitar. I have a question, that I hope is not out of order. Does the flocking of the underside of the guitar serve a functional purpose, or is it strictly for aesthetic?

Thanks for the kinds words. I have never claimed to be an Emmons expert so I cannot answer your question about the flocking. I am sure someone with more knowledge than me can answer that however. I like the way it looks personally.

The Christmas red flocking does look great, and is also very cheery. Perhaps it did just look great or perhaps hid less than perfect wood grain.

Well she is all finished now and I am pleased. Thanks to all who helped me on the project and to those of you who have written me, I appreciate it very much. This girl now belongs to one of our forum members and I know he will be proud and treat her good.

I spoke with the new owner today and explained that many people were asking who bought this Emmons. He gave me the go ahead to publish his name. I always highly respect buyers names unless told otherwise.

The new owner is forum member Ray DeVoe from Florida. Ray is very excited as he should be. I would say shoot him an email after he gets the guitar for his point of view if you like. Ray is a great guy and a new friend...

It's been a real treat getting to know you and I have learned a lot along the way. You are a very skilled and knowledgeable person and I'm starting to wonder if there is anything you can't do.

You also play really well and it was pleasure hearing you pick on some of the videos you sent me. You really made this guitar "sing". Thanks for all of the updates detailing the step by step rebuilding work that you were performing.

Randy, you did well too.

Its always great to hear the pro's play. Thanks for taking the guitar for a "spin". I would have given you guys a call that night but I didn't want to interrupt all that fun you were having.!! I need to touch base with you one of these days.

I'm glad the the guitar is still up in TN at this time. It sure looks like we are going to take a "beating" from this hurricane.

The guitar will certainly be appreciated.

Here is Ruby with her new owner Ray Devoe. Ray drove all the way to Nashville from Florida to pick her up and we have had a day in the shop doing pickups and re-wires on his other push pulls. Even had time for a quick service at church tonight... Ray is the man and is one happy steeler.

Mike really put a lot of effort and hard work into this guitar. Its hard to take a really good picture of it as the flash "washes" out the cherry color. The guitar is a "Masterpiece".

I'm playing it through an octal tube Revelation preamp into powered Webb speaker cabinets. The cabinets are powered by T C Furlong modules and the speakers are 15" JBL frames re-coned to K 130 specs. It's a "killer" setup.

Getting this guitar has given me the incentive to practice and play more again. I pretty much quit playing out in late 2015 due to an auto immune illness that affects the nerve to muscle communication system. It's taken almost two years of infusion treatments and steroids to get my health back to a manageable state. Now it's time to get back to picking more and to take off some of the weight that steroids helped put on.!!
